HARRISBURG, Pa. — A study conducted by researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and published July 11 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found no significant link between dairy fats and heart disease and stroke. The researchers reported that certain types of dairy fat may actually help guard against having a severe stroke.
During its current review of dairy market issues the Board has received numerous comments from farmers and Pennsylvania consumers regarding the value of drinking whole milk. Research such as this provides consumers the necessary information to make informed decisions regarding their dietary choices.
