FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Monitoring the nutrient status of a citrus grove is a critical tool in successful grove management in the citrus greening environment. Plant sap analysis is an additional tool to assess nutrient uptake along with leaf and soil analysis.
Growers can learn more about plant sap analysis in citrus production in a free Zoom workshop from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT, April 28. Workshop organizers hope to introduce Florida’s citrus growers to sap analysis for monitoring plant nutrition.
The event is organized by University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Science researcher Rhuanito “Johnny” Ferrarezi, an assistant professor of horticulture at the UF/IFAS Indian River Research and Education Center in Fort Pierce.
“At UF/IFAS, our goal is to introduce viable management techniques that growers can use now to improve grove productivity,” said Ferrarezi, “In this workshop, growers will hear from researchers and commercial laboratories about the latest uses of this process.”
Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) CEUs will be available at this workshop.
