CARLISLE, Pa. — Create a beautiful flowering container for Mom. Penn State Master Gardeners in Cumberland County are hosting a children’s workshop on May 4 between 10 a.m. and noon at the Penn State Extension Office of Cumberland County at 310 Allen Road in Carlisle.
At this workshop, children can make and take home a colorful container of flowers and herbs for Mom on Mother’s Day, which is May 12. The Master Gardeners will help participants make a card to add a special message to Mom and create a decoration to brighten the container.
This activity is recommended for youth ages 4 to 12, and a parent or guardian must remain with the child during the workshop. The fee of $10 covers the cost of all supplies, including container and plants, to complete the project. You may come anytime between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon on May 4 to participate.
Registration is requested by May 2 and will save your spot, but walk-ins will be accepted if supplies are available. To register, visit https://extension.psu.edu/ and search “Mother’s Day Container Workshop for Youth” or call Extension Registration Services at 877-345-0691.
