CARLISLE, Pa. — Join the Penn State Master Gardeners in Cumberland County for the Mother’s Day Container Workshop for Youth. This workshop for youth ages 4-12 features an in-person kit pick-up followed by a 30-minute online workshop about how to create a beautiful flowering container for Mom!
Curbside pick-up of the kits is on Saturday, May 1, 2021, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon at the Penn State Extension Office in Cumberland County at 310 Allen Road in Carlisle. Youth then attend a 30-minute online workshop on Saturday, May 1, at 2:00 p.m. to learn the steps to create a colorful container of flowers and herbs along with a card to give to Mom on Mother’s Day, which is Sunday, May 9. A parent or guardian must be present at the time of kit pick-up and during the Saturday online workshop. Registrants remain in their vehicle during kit pick-up. The online workshop will not be recorded.
The fee of $10.00 covers the cost of all supplies in the kit, including container, soil, and plants, to complete the project. There are 25 kits available. Participants must register for a kit to receive the Zoom link to the live online workshop. Registration is requested by Wednesday, April 28.
