Pink Tractor spotlights women in agriculture

BUCKNER, Ky. — Jamie Cruz, from Littleton, MA was featured in the January/February issue of Pink Tractor magazine, a publication for women in the agriculture industry.

In the article, “New England Farming: From A to Z,” readers learn a little bit about Springdell Farm’s three generations of women farm operators as well as its business transition from a wholesale operation to farmstand and year-round community supported agriculture (CSA) program. Springdell Farm is one of 7,398 farms in the United States that sells products directly to consumers through a CSA arrangement, which according to the USDA accounts for 7% of the direct-to-consumer sales by farms.
