SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA), along with the Illinois Livestock Development Group (ILDG), is coordinating an open house for Justin & Whitney McKeown who have just finished building two 2,500 head wean-to-finish pig barns.
WHEN: Friday, February 10, 2017
11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Ribbon cutting at 11:30 am
WHERE: 2935 E. County Rd 2150, LaHarpe, IL 61450
WHY: A common goal of IPPA and ILDG is to positively promote livestock in Illinois. Having open houses is just one way to do that by inviting friends, family, and community members into a barn and allowing them to explore the barn and ask questions before the pigs move in.

Directions to the barn: From Carthage – Travel east on US-136E for 5 miles. Turn onto County Road 2500. Travel about 6.5 miles, turn right onto County Road 1900. Travel 1.5 miles, turn left onto County Road 2900. Travel 2.5 miles, turn right onto County Road 2150. Travel 0.3 miles. Hog barns will be on the south side of the road.
