LATHAM, N.Y. — The Capital Area Ag & Hort Program’s Pesticide Recertification Day is designed to assist pesticide applicators in attaining DEC pesticide credits needed to keep their licenses up to date. Pesticide Recertification Day is being held on March 1, 2018 at The Century House, 997 New Loudon Rd, Latham, NY.

The cost per person to attend Pesticide Recertification Day is $100 for the full day, $85 for morning or afternoon only. Payment for Pesticide Recertification Day is required in advance. A catered lunch is provided for all participants.
Registration is from 7:30 – 8:30 AM. To receive DEC credits, you must sign in and present your DEC pesticide applicator’s license at registration so your certificate can be prepared.
The following DEC credits are available:
MORNING SESSION: 2 CORE credits; 1 Category 10 credit; 1 Category 2 credit; 1 Category 25 credit; 1 Category 3a credit; 1 Category 9 credit; 0.5 Category 1a credit.
• ORNAMENTALS AND TURF: 3 Category 10 credits; 1 Category 2 credit; 3 Category 3A credits; 2 Category 3b credits; 3 Category 25 credits; 1 Category 9 credit.
• AGRICULTURE PLANT: 3Category 10 credits; 3 Category 1a credits; 3 Category 21 credits; 3 Category 22 credits; 3 Category 23 credits; 3 Category 24 credits; 3 Category 25 credits.
• STRUCTURAL AND RODENT: 2 Category 7a credits; 1.5 Category 7f credits; 1.5 Category 8 credits
Speakers at the General Morning Session will include Maria van Dyke of Cornell University, Margaret Kelley from NYS Ag & Markets and Mark Solan from New York State DEC. In the afternoon, Joellen Lampman of the NYS Integrated Pest Management Program will speak during the Ornamentals and Turf breakout session. Aaron Gabriel and Laura McDermott of Cornell Cooperative Extension and will speak during the Agriculture Plant breakout session while Matt Frye of NYS IPM and Jody Timer of Cornell Cooperative Extension will be speaking during the Structural & Rodent breakout session.
