UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State will host a Warm Season Grasses Tour from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on September 19 at the Penn State Rockview Farm. Park at the SGL 333 Parking Area at the intersection of Shiloh Road and Bricker Road Benner Township, PA 16801. This free workshop is for future, new and existing producers who want to learn more about warm season grass production and industry opportunities.
Attendees will be given a tour of two acres of grasses including switchgrass, bluestem, perennial rye, and pollinator attractors and hear short talks by industry and farmers. “This workshop will introduce farmers to warm season grasses and allow them the chance to talk to industry suppliers and buyers and farmers experienced in warm season grass marketing and production.” Whether you’re starting a warm season grass operation or just curious about incorporating warm season grasses into your feed management, this workshop will help you.
