UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Canopy Fruit Zone Management live webinar will discuss the fundamentals of fruit zone management and present findings from field research. The fundamentals of fruit zone leaf removal will be discussed and research-based findings will be presented so attendees can make informed canopy management decisions in vineyards.
To be covered: Fruit zone leaf and lateral shoot removal are best implemented between bloom and pea-size berry growth stages. Fruit zone management is an important tool that can reduce cluster bunch rots and change fruit composition to target wine sensory attributes. However, optimal fruit zone management strategies vary by growing region, cultivar, and training system. The fundamentals of fruit zone leaf removal will be discussed and research-based findings will be presented so attendees can make informed canopy management decisions in vineyards.
