UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — An upcoming Penn State Extension workshop is aimed at teaching soybean producers new integrated pest and cultural management practices covering the entire growing season, from planting to harvest.
The “Soybean Production Workshop” will take place in four locations in February and March:
— Mercer: 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Feb. 20, Penn State Extension Mercer County office, 463 N. Perry Highway.
— Leesport: 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Feb. 23, Berks County Agricultural Center, 1238 County Welfare Road.
— Pennsylvania Furnace: 8:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Feb. 28, Pasto Agricultural Museum, Penn State Ag Progress Days site, 2710 W. Pine Grove Road.
— Greensburg: 8:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. March 2, Penn State Extension Westmoreland County office, 214 Greensburg-Donohoe Station Road.
Designed for new and experienced Pennsylvania soybean producers, the workshop will cover variety selection; planting rates; fertility management; weed, insect and disease scouting; and harvest management.
The $10 registration fee covers lunch. Space is limited, so preregistration is recommended. Registration deadlines vary by location.
