UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Extension Green Industry Team will be hosting a webinar on September 18, 2019 from 1 PM – 3 PM. The webinar is recorded and can be viewed from September 18th through the 25th for PDA Recertification Credits. Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Pesticide recertification credits are available for participants in Core and Private Category, as well as categories 18,22, and 23.

- 1-2 PM: Respirators: 2 Core Credits
- 2-3 PM: Greenhouse and Interior Plantscape Disease Management: 2 Category Credits in Categories 18, 22, 23, PC
The webinar includes a one-hour presentation on Respirators, presented by Tracey Harpster, Penn State Pesticide Education Program. This talk will review respirator regulations including new requirements under Worker Protection Standard (WPS) requirements for handlers. Qualitative and quantitative respirator fit tests will be discussed as well as fit checks. Respirator use, storage and maintenance will also be described.
The second hour focuses on Greenhouse and Interior Plantscape Disease Management, presented by Nick Flax, Penn State Extension Educator. This presentation will cover plant diseases that are commonly found in greenhouse floriculture crops and interior plantscapes. General biology of disease-causing pathogens will be described, and integrated pest management (IPM) measures for controlling these diseases will be presented. Disease management strategies provided will include a range of crop-cultural, chemical and biological controls.
