PDA warns to discard heavy cream from Pa. dairy

State advisory affects heavy cream purchased from Oregon Dairy, Inc. in Lancaster County

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Consumers who purchased heavy cream from Oregon Dairy, Inc. in Lancaster County should immediately discard the cream, which was sold in plastic pints and quarts with the sell-by date of Sept. 7. Tests completed during routine sampling indicated that the product was not properly pasteurized. Oregon Dairy is located at 2900 Oregon Pike in Lititz.

No reported illnesses have been attributed to the product, but people who consumed the heavy cream should consult their physicians if they become ill.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture encourages, protects and promotes agriculture and related industries throughout the commonwealth while providing consumer protection through inspection services that impact the health and financial security of Pennsylvania’s citizens.
