NEVADA, Mo. — The University of Missouri Extension along with the Partners N Pasture group will be holding a pasture tour on August 16th. The event will begin at 5:30 p. m. at the Stropes Farm near Chilhowee, Mo approximately 2 miles west on highway 2 from the junction of it and highway 13. This tour is part of the NRCS + MU Grasslands Project.
MU Extension Agronomy Specialist Pat Miller and MU Extension Livestock Specialist Patrick Davis along with the Stropes Family have planned the tour. The tour will consist of viewing as well as discussing the farms grazing system and pasture conditions. The Stropes family will have on hand soil and soil health test results to discuss. In addition, there will be discussion of weed control and participants can bring weed samples to identify. NRCS personnel will be present to discuss programs available for pastures and grazing systems.
Potluck meal following the tour, bring lawn chairs and a dish.
