WALDEN, Colo. — June 1 is Colorado’s free fishing day, and on that special day, State Forest State Park is offering a Fishing Clinic at Ranger Lakes from 8 a.m. until noon.
CPW says anyone can fish without a license on June 1; however, to take advantage of the clinic or enjoy a great day of fishing at a beautiful park, a valid park pass is required, available for purchase at the Moose Visitor Center or Ranger Lakes self-serve fee station.
CPW personnel will help with tips, suggestions and techniques to help anglers of all ages learn the basics so they can take up the activity on their own.
Bring your own gear, or borrow tackle provided by CPW.
CPW encourages all participants to dress for conditions, bring sunscreen, insect repellent, food, a chair and snacks and water.
All state fishing regulations are in effect.
For more information about the clinic, contact State Forest State Park at 970-723-8366, or visit the park’s website.
