ATHENS, Ga. — The United States farm real estate value, a measurement of the value of all land and buildings on farms, averaged $3,380 per acre for 2021, up $220 per acre from 2020. Alabama farm real estate values increased $50 per acre and Florida values increased $120 per acre. Farm real estate values in Georgia increased by $170 per acre and South Carolina values increased by $100 per acre.
Cash rent paid to landlords for all cropland in the United States increased $2 to $141 per acre in 2021. Cash rent for pasture had no change, remaining at $13 per acre. In Alabama, cash rent for cropland averaged $66.50 per acre, a decrease of $1.50 from last year. Cash rent for cropland in Florida decreased $5 to $127 per acre. Georgia cash rent for cropland was up $9 for 2021 at $135 per acre. In South Carolina, cash rent for cropland increased $3 to $50.50 per acre.
