BROOMFIELD, Colo. — On March 16, 2023, The Colorado Agriculture Commission approved new rules for PACFA that will require all licensed facilities to have a written contingency (emergency) plan, will require shelters and rescues to have a written behavior and enrichment plan for dogs and cats in their care, and will require any PACFA licensee who transports or imports pet animals to have a Disease Control and Treatment (DCAT) Plan.
Read the copy of the approved rule here.
Once the rule becomes effective on May 15, 2023, all PACFA licensees subject to the new regulations are expected to be compliant with the plan requirements.
