HARRISBURG, Pa. – Calling all no-till, cover crop and soil health advocates, and those who want to learn more about these practices! The Pennsylvania No-Till Alliance will host a soil health meeting on Wednesday, March 17 in Lancaster County. All are invited to this event, which will commence at 8:30 a.m. The Alliance has planned a half-day of activities which include featured speaker Amanda Baun-Zeigler, as well as other educational presentations and discussions.
Amanda will present information on TruCarbon, the recently launched initiative of Truterra, the sustainability business subsidiary of Land O’Lakes, designed to help farmers generate and sell carbon credits from their farm.
The event will be held at Hershey Farms, 338 Sunnyburn Road, Elizabethtown, PA. In addition to featured speaker Amanda Baun-Zeigler, highlights of the meeting include:
- Research on Herbicide Half-Life in Cover Crops, Eric Rosenbaum, Rosetree Consulting, LLC
- Designing the Right Cover Crop Program for Your Farm (including Research on Fungicide Use in Corn), Karl Dirks, Lancaster Seed Sales
- What’s New with the 4R Alliance, Ben Hushon, The Mill
- Opportunities to Build Soil Health with 3CRP Assistance, Sarah Xenophon, Chiques-Conoy-Conewago Regional Partnership
At the conclusion of the meeting, there will be time for Q & A, allowing you to get the most out of your attendance and ask questions from any of the presenters.
