BEDFORD, Pa. — The 2021 edition of the PA Farm Show will be one for the record books, with a unique spin on an old classic. This years Farm Show, hosted virtually, will allow the show to go on, although in a new format!
The PA Beef Council (PBC) has several ways planned to stay involved in our largest consumer event of the year. Historically, the first full week of January is all hands on deck for the PBC staff as we prepare to welcome visitors of all ages to the Beef Pod where show attendees can learn about all things beef, from pasture to plate. This year, the educational components will be available from the comfort of your home!
The Ag Explorers program, which has historically served as a unique program to teach Farm Show visitors about Pennsylvania agriculture, will offer virtual educational opportunities for participants. The PBC will host an online beef learning station, where site visitors can learn about the beef lifecycle, partake in online activity sheets and watch a virtual farm tour! In addition to the beef site, a veal site will also be hosted, teaching consumers about all things veal! Similar to the beef station, the veal site will have a tour of a modern-day veal barn, worksheets for young participants and also facts about veal!
In addition to Ag Explorers, the PBC will be a part of the PA Preferred Culinary Connection cooking demonstrations. Historically, beef and veal day has been a highlight of the week for beef producers and Farm Show attendees alike. This year, the cooking demonstrations will be recorded and made available for viewers! Outstanding chefs will be demonstrating unique and timeless recipes featuring beef and veal from local farms. In addition to the traditional cooking demos with delicious beef and veal, there will be a farm tour video with local beef producer Bow Creek Farm, from Hershey, PA.
To engage in virtual Farm Show, scheduled for January 9-16, 2021, participants can follow Pennsylvania Farm Show on Facebook and Instagram and visit the shows website www.farmshow.pa.gov for up-to-date information. The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) will also be airing many of the events throughout the week.
