COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — The Otsego Master Gardeners will hold their Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the CCE Education Center, 123 Lake St., Cooperstown. All gardeners are encouraged to come early for the best selection. Blight resistant tomato seedlings and annual flowers sell quickly. Master Gardeners divide perennials and groundcovers from their own gardens for the sale, so customers know plants will do well in Central New York. Varieties of vegetables, herbs, and annual flowers Master Gardeners chose to propagate for the sale are favorites known to thrive in our area. Best of all, Master Gardeners at the sale will be eager to share their gardening expertise. The plants offered are young, but photographs will show plants at maturity.
Bring a garden soil sample for a free soil pH test! In addition, gently used gardening supplies and books will be available for sale. Prices are reasonable; proceeds from the sale support the educational and outreach efforts of the Otsego Master Gardener Volunteer Program.
Funds from the Master Gardener Plant Sale help Master Gardener Volunteers provide environmentally sound information through the Gardeners’ Helpline, conduct outreach and workshop programs, and foster land and community stewardship. Master Gardener Volunteers serve as a link between residents and the nation’s cooperative extension system, an outreach of land grant universities.
