IOWA FALLS, Iowa — A continuing education workshop for Ornamental and Turfgrass Commercial Pesticide Applicators will be held Wednesday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Hardin County ISU Extension Office in Iowa Falls.
The workshop is for certified applicators with categories 3O, 3T, 3OT and 10 endorsements. Topics to be covered include equipment calibration and safe application techniques; pesticide drift reduction; and phytotoxicity. Pest and pest management topics (including pesticides) include updates on emerald ash borer and bur oak blight; hard to control weeds in lawns; RoundUp® for lawns; compaction reduction strategies; identification of common turfgrass insects; and disease identification symptoms on golf courses.
The registration fee is $35 on or before Feb. 28 and $45 after Feb. 28. To register, contact the Hardin County ISU Extension Office at 641-648-4850 or toll free 1-888-648-5005.
