UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Starting on May 6, the PSU Wine & Grape Team will host webinars every Wednesday at 3 p.m. During these sessions, the team members will present timely and specific topics (e.g., pest management, cultural management, winery production, marketing and tasting room sales). The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.
Those who attend the first session, Early Season Canopy Management, will learn the practice and theory of best vine canopy management strategies between 7” shoot and fruit set growth stages. Grape growers, winemakers, and taste room operators are invited to attend!
To be Covered: The fundamentals of early-season canopy management including shoot thinning, shoot positioning, leaf removal, and lateral shoot removal. These practices will moderate crop yield and improve disease management thereby promoting vineyard health and sustainability. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
