ORISKANY, N.Y. — How much do you know about the Dairy Industry? Would you like to put your knowledge to the test? Try your hand at these 3 Junior Division Questions:
1. When do we observe National Grilled Cheese Month?
2. What is the primary protein found in milk?
3. What is the common name for Traumatic Gastritis?
These are just a few examples of questions youth had to answer in the North Central Regional Dairy Bowl Contest held on Saturday June 6th. National Grilled Cheese month is observed in April, the Primary Protein found in Milk is Casein and when the vet tells you your cow has traumatic Gastritis, this is more commonly known as Hardware disease. You will know that you will need to give her a magnet for treatment.
This year has had its challenges but competing in a virtual Quiz Bowl was no setback for these young dairy boys and girls. Congratulations to all the youth who competed this year. The top 4 youth of each division will go on to represent the North Central Region at the State Level.
