OLD FORGE, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Oneida County 4-H Program are pleased to announce the awarding of a $500.00 4-H Memorial Scholarship and a $250.00 Seybold/Guth Scholarship to graduating senior, Paige Schweinsberg, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Kyle Schweinsberg of Old Forge, New York. Paige has been a 4-H member for 11 years taking part in Horse Bowl, Hippology, 4-H Teen Council and showing her horse at the Boonville-Oneida County Fair in Hunt Seat, Western and Gymkhana classes. She is currently accepted into Utica College, Paul Smith’s College and MVCC planning on majoring in Business.
The Memorial Scholarship award is made possible through the Mary Planow, Shirley Nessle, Bruce Field, Eric Kresse, Alberta Schallenberg, and Melissa Vaill Scholarship Fund. The Seybold/Guth Scholarship award is made possible through the Audrey Seybold and Raymond Guth Scholarship Fund and the Oneida County 4-H Horse Program. Oneida County 4-H is designed to promote the 4-H Youth Development Program mission; to enable youth to develop the knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and behaviors to be competent, caring adults. The criteria for these scholarships include; that the applicant be a graduating senior, have been actively involved in Oneida County 4-H for a period of at least three consecutive years and be accepted into a two or four-year college, trade, technical or business school.
4-H is a community of young people across America who learn leadership, citizenship and life skills. With nearly six million young people throughout America, 4-H has grown to encompass youth from urban cities to rural towns. The New York State 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Cornell Cooperative Extension.
