General Manager Andy Cashman stated that “the partnership with SolarGaines will include the installation of a weather station to capture temperature, irradiance, humidity, precipitation, pressure, and wind.” Mr. Cashman added that the monitoring display and kiosk software, which promotes the Fairgrounds’ adoption of solar energy “will help educate the public on how to reduce their carbon footprint, which aligns with the educational mission of the Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society.”
“The Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society is honored to do our part to save energy, reduce pollution, while at the same time lowering operational costs at the Maryland State Fairgrounds during these extremely difficult and challenging economic times,” said President of the Board Donna G. Myers.
