SACRAMENTO — A free online webinar for retail olive oil buyers and decision-makers interested in building sales of high-quality olive oil is being offered October 16, 2019. Click here to register for this 45-minute session that will update retail buyers about new and ongoing efforts of the Olive Oil Commission of California and the California Olive Oil Council whose members produce 100% California-grown olive oil.
These two organizations represent over 95% of the olive oil grown in California and uphold among the strictest mandatory standards in the world for production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
A panel of olive oil experts will present information about the efforts of each organization, how oils are verified to be extra virgin and why this is important for the oils you chose to put on your shelves.
The panel includes Brady Whitlow, CEO of Corto Olive and the chairman of the Olive Oil Commission of California who will update attendees about new labeling requirements for California olive oil.
Sara Feinberg, a member of the California Olive Council’s Board, will provide an overview of the Council’s Certified Seal for Extra Virgin Olive Oil and introduce a new consumer marketing campaign being launched by the organization to drive sales of California olive oil.
Panelist Alexandra Devarenne of the Extra Virgin Alliance will simplify and explain the mandatory quality standards for Extra Virgin Olive Oil now in place in California.
