OKLAHOMA CITY — Changes have been announced for 2018 Ag Day events.
On May 9, Oklahoma agriculture groups, organizations and Made in Oklahoma products will be featured from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 4th Floor Rotunda during Ag Day at the state Capitol.
Also on May 9, The Governor’s Excellence in Agriculture Awards ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives, 2325 E I- 44 Service Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73111. The Governor’s Excellence in Agriculture Awards, held in conjunction with Ag Day, is hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and sponsored by the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives. The recipients are: Keith Kisling of Burlington, Governor’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award; Jimmy Kinder of Walters, Governor’s Agriculture Environmental Stewardship Award; Randy Gilbert of Tecumseh, Governor’s Outstanding Public Service in Agriculture Award; and Larry Watkins of Stillwater will posthumously be recognized with the Governor’s Outstanding Legacy in Agriculture Award.
The exhibit area and the Governor’s Excellence in Agriculture Awards were originally scheduled for April 10 at the state Capitol.
