OKLAHOMA CITY — OCA strongly supported USDA’s announcement in late August to investigate the cattle market after the Tyson beef plant fire in Holcomb, Kansas. The USDA investigation is focusing on both the live cattle and boxed beef market. Recently, USDA announced the results of their investigation to be available around the first of the year.
“OCA supports a thorough and complete investigation that is timely and conducted as quick as possible,” said Mike Weeks, President of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association. “Further, OCA strongly supports full and speedy prosecution of any parties guilty of illegal activities.”
