CANFIELD, Ohio — Do you apply fertilizer on your farm? If so, it’s time to start thinking about getting your fertilizer certificate. For those who apply on more than 50 acres of crops grown primarily for sale, a fertilizer certification is required. Even for those who spread on less than 50 acres, the certificate provides beneficial knowledge and updates regarding fertilizer application.
Soil health, nutrient management and proactive water quality tips will be covered as well as soil sampling and testing recommendations. Upon completion of this class, participants will have fulfilled the training requirements for the Ohio Agricultural Fertilizer Applicator Certification.
This certification training is April 30 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Mahoning County Extension Office, located at 490 S. Broad St., Canfield, OH. Registration is $30 per participant. Registration information can be found at go.osu.edu/FertCert19, or by calling 330-533-5538.
