ALBANY — Building great workplace relationships on the farm and managing tensions and conflicts proactively is an important part of successful operations.
As experts in the conflict management field- NYS Agricultural Mediation Program (NYSAMP) announces new support for farmers and farm workers experiencing workplace issues.
- Mediation is offered when there are tensions, challenges or conflicts that would benefit from a structured and supported conversation. Mediators guide a conversation so that everyone may be heard and understood and help clarify options around important issues participants express. In mediation participants make the decisions and determine the outcome.
- Conflict Coaching is offered for individuals struggling with a workplace conflict- either farmers or farmworkers. Conflict coaching helps individuals gain insight and skills to communicate and to manage the conflict.
- Skill based communication trainings are available for farm managers and farm teams to build proactive skills in maintaining positive communication. These are being offered during the winter season. Contact us if you are interested.
