NYS Grange at Empire Farm Days

Schedule includes a live dog & handler team, quilter, historians, more

SENECA FALLS, N.Y. —  The New York State Grange has announced its program lineup for the August 8-10, 2017 Empire Farm Days at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls, NY. The schedule includes a live dog and handler team, quilter, spinner, NYS Grange Youth, local historians Fran Barbieri and Fred Capozzi, Hot Wheels collector Richard McKee and The Council on Alcoholism.

The daily program will begin in the Grange tent with ‘You CAN Teach an Old Dog New Tricks’ from 9:30 to 10 am with 9-year-old canine champion Dalmatian ‘Sparks’ and handler Tibbie Dell. The pair competed in the Dalmatian National Competition at Purina Farms in St. Louis in May and earned titles in Tracking, Coaching Instinct, Rally Advanced Excellence, and Versatility Excellence, and the Tri-Athlete Award. Dell will have free AKC program and responsible dog ownership information available immediately after her program.

The complete 2017 Empire Farm Days Grange Center program schedule is:

  • 9:30-10:00:    ‘You CAN Teach an Old Dog New Tricks’ with ‘Sparks’ and Tibbie Dell
  • 10:05-10:20:  The Council on Alcoholism
  • 10:35-11:00:  New York State Grange Youth
  • 11:05-11:30:  Quilting and Spinning Presentation
  • 11:35-12:00:  NYS Grange: Past, Present, and Future
  • 12:25-1:00:    Seneca Falls Town Historian Fran Barbieri
  • 1:05-1:30:      Seneca County Historical Society: Fred Capozzi
  • 1:35-2:00:      The History of Hot Wheel Cars: Richard McKee
  • 2:05-2:30:      Quilting and Spinning Presentation.

Empire Farm Days covers more than 300 acres with the latest agricultural equipment and exhibits, field demonstrations, test driving, Dairy Profit and Soil Health seminars, Equine Center programs with live horses, cattle handling demos, farm safety and farm family displays; and much more.
