UTICA, N.Y. — The excitement is growing as we get nearer to the 2023 NYS Farmers Market Manager’s Conference! The conference will be held in Utica, NY, at the Delta Hotel, March 1 – 2, and cohosted by the Farmers Market Federation and the Oneida County Public Market.
A key component of the annual conference is the tour that features farms, food businesses, and other food-related businesses in the area. This year the conference will visit MVCC’s thINCubator – a hub for entrepreneurship in the Mohawk Valley. They provide new and existing entrepreneurs with the guidance and programs they need to turn their ideas into businesses through an accelerated program, a Small Business Development Center, and a network of mentors and experts to help them succeed. Food-related businesses in the Mohawk Valley have found the thINCubator extremely helpful in kicking off new NY-based food businesses with farm-to-recipe assistance, logo, and marketing development. At least a couple of vendors at the Oneida County Public Market have successfully used the services of the thINCubator, such as Spongetta’s Gardens and Utica Bread. The tour will be led by thINCubator’s own Director, Ryan Miller. Ryan is an incredibly creative visioner who brings excellent innovation and creativity to any project he gets involved in. He will discuss the role of thINCubator and other organizations similar to this in other areas of the state in developing small businesses.
