POMPEY, N.Y. — The New York Center for Agricultural Medicine & Health (NYCAMH) will be offering free skin cancer checks in its mobile health clinic at the upcoming Empire Farm Days. The skin screenings will be available August 4 and 5 only; Empire Farm Days take place August 3-5 (details below).
The exam, which includes a head-to-toe exam of one’s skin conducted by a certified nurse practitioner who specializes in dermatology, takes about 15 minutes.
Appointments are not being scheduled in advance. Simply come to NYCAMH’S informational booth. If someone is being seen or others are in the queue, a time will be arranged for you to come back for your exam.
NYCAMH will also be offering at Empire Farm Days:
- Personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection and respirators, available for purchase
- National ROPS Rebate Program information and applications (see below)
- Free technical consultations with a NYCAMH safety expert to answer your questions and provide information about our services
- John May Farm Safety Fund information and applications for a cost-matching program that pays up to $5,000 for New York farms to make safety improvements.
