CROGHAN, N.Y. — The New York FFA Foundation invites all Oswegatchie supporters and alumni to join them for a celebration of the past and future, as they enjoy one final meal in Widrick Lodge on Saturday, August 10th at Camp Oswegatchie in Croghan, New York.
Built in 1872, Widrick Lodge has transformed over the years from a logger’s hotel, to a summer resort, and to a summer camp dining hall. After 74 years of use, the Foundation now has an opportunity to replace this building with a brand-new facility that will provide future generations with the same magical experiences overlooking Long Pond. Since 1946 more than 100,000 campers have passed through the doors of Widrick Lodge for nutritious meals and fellowship. Today, the needs of Oswegatchie are changing and with the awarding of a grant from the State of New York, there is a once in a lifetime opportunity to secure the future of camp. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Capital Campaign and help close the gap of the remaining $300,000 needed for the $3.3 million project.
The Last Supper in Widrick event will consist of a full day of activities including trail hikes, paddling on Long Pond, tours of Widrick Lodge, a silent auction, swimming, a chicken BBQ dinner, a live auction of selected items of Widrick lodge, and more.
The cost of attendance for this event is $100 per person, or a family rate not to exceed $250. Donors who have given or are in good standing on making pledges of $1000 or more will have access to two free tickets to this event. This is a great event to make a first donation to the Capital Campaign, make a long-term pledge commitment, or upgrade a donation to the next level.
Guests attending are welcome to arrive anytime on Saturday. Participants may come in for the day or can plan to spend the night in one of the spaces on camp property. Lodging is available on a limited basis and is offered first come, first serve. A hearty “freewill offering” Oswegatchie pancake breakfast will be served before departure on Sunday morning.
