SYRACUSE, N.Y. — American Dairy Association North East will host all New York county Dairy Ambassadors and Associate Ambassadors at the upcoming in-person New York Dairy Ambassador training seminar on July 6-7, at the Embassy Suites, Destiny USA location, in Syracuse, N.Y.
“After two years of virtual training due to COVID restrictions, we are excited to return to an in-person seminar,” said ADA North East Senior Vice President of Industry Relations Cindy Weimer. “The training is designed to give the newly-selected ambassadors the tools to confidently promote the New York dairy industry and to help build trust in dairy with the consumers they reach.”
The two-day session offers training in key communications capabilities, including public speaking, media interviews, and social media outreach. Additionally, participants will learn about ADA North East checkoff strategies and programs developed to build trust and sales in New York, such as in-store retail partnerships, virtual farm tours, and in-school initiatives like Fuel Up to Play 60 and New York Thursdays.
“At the request of the local promotion committees, we’re offering county Associate Ambassadors the opportunity to attend the seminar,” added Weimer. “This is a great opportunity to further develop young advocates for the dairy industry.”
The New York State Dairy Ambassador program is funded by New York dairy farmers, through their checkoff promotion dollars and managed by ADA North East. The program’s goal is to develop youth advocates for the dairy industry. The program aims to build critical professional skills and confidence of young individuals who are passionate about the dairy industry. Individuals will gain experience collaborating with a team, knowledge of ADA North East promotion and marketing programs, and will participate in sessions led by experts in public speaking, social media, team building and leadership.
