ALBANY — New York Beef Council’s commitment to providing athletes, in all sports, with up-to-date, science and evidence-based tips and strategies for using protein to support muscle growth and recovery, as supported by the Build Your Base with Beef program was evident at the recent NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships, held at the MVP Arena in Albany, NY February 25th and 26th.
NYBC provided over 700 high school wrestlers, win, or lose, with beef jerky in the post-game locker room as a nutrition recovery food after tough championship games on the mat!
The Build Your Base with Beef program is a comprehensive sports nutrition program for athletes, their families, and coaches which provides science-based strategies that can be put into action to perform better and be healthier! No more guesswork! With the implementation of this program, participants will have the ability to gain access to simple-to-follow, easy-to-make beef-powered recipes and meals plans that support athletic performance and recovery. Helping student-athletes eat to perform better on the field and court is second to helping them gain the nutrition skills needed to be healthy throughout their life.
NYBC’s presence at the championships was to help draw attention to the Build Your Base program and get schools to sign up for the 2022-2023 school athletic year. Participating schools will gain free access to information, simple-to-follow meal plans, and easy-to-make beef recipes plus resources to support the health and efforts of their schools’ athletes to prepare, sustain and recover from their sport of choice! For information on how to sign your school and athletes up for the Build Your Base with Beef program go to: https://www.buildyourbase.org/new-york and see how your athletes can be supplied with beef jerky and nutrition resources to get them to the finish line!
The New York Beef Council in a multi collaborative partnership between the South Dakota Beef Industry Council and Sanford Health and Sanford Sports Science Institute has contracted to support New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) going into the 2021-2022 scholastic athletic year!
