VERONA, N.Y. — The New York Beef Council’s commitment to providing athletes, in all sports, with up-to-date, science and evidence-based tips and strategies for using protein to support muscle growth and recovery was evident at the recent NYS Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, Inc. 84th Annual Conference, November 17-19, 2022,
The New York Beef Council attended the NYS Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, Inc. 84th Annual Conference, November 17-19, 2022, at the Turning Stone Verona, N.Y., to showcase the “Build Your Base Program”. This is the NYS AHPERD premier event for professionals in the field of physical activity, physical education, school-based health, and wellness in New York State. Approximately 1,800 professionals and future professionals from around the state attended the event.
The NYBC in a multi-collaborative partnership between the South Dakota Beef Industry Council and Sanford Health and Sanford Sports Science Institute contracted to sponsor the event. Along with hosting a table advertising the “Build Your Base”, NYBC sponsored speaker, Dr. Michael Roussell, Ph.D., who wrote the “Strength: The Field Manual” for the Build Your Base Program. Dr. Michael Roussell provided an educational presentation on the Build Your Base comprehensive sports nutrition program that utilizes beef as its premier protein.
The NYBC is committed to providing athletes, in all sports, with up-to-date, science, and evidence-based tips and strategies for using protein to support muscle growth and recovery, through the Build Your Base with Beef program. The Build Your Base with Beef program is a comprehensive sports nutrition program for athletes, their families, and coaches which provides science-based strategies that can be put into action to perform better and be healthier! No more guesswork! With the implementation of this program, participants can access simple-to-follow, easy-to-make beef-powered recipes and meal plans that support athletic performance and recovery. Helping student-athletes eat to perform better on the field and court is second to helping them gain the nutrition skills needed to be healthy throughout their life.
