GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Nebraska’s Natural Resources Districts (NRDs) have sold more than 96 million tree seedlings and shrubs to landowners since 1972 and we’re not stopping anytime soon. The state’s NRDs will be giving away 3,000 more Colorado Blue Spruce tree seedlings and bags of native prairie grass seed to the public at Husker Harvest Days this year. Event goers are encouraged to go to the NRD blue building at Lot 39E (corner of Ninth St. and East Ave.) to learn of the newest conservation management opportunities available for their properties and to pick up a free tree. Husker Harvest Days is September 11th through September 13th, 2018.
NRD conservation experts, Nebraska agencies and a variety of organizations will have helpful information available inside the building regarding grants, cost-share programs, water quality, water quantity, erosion, soil protection, wildlife and much more.
