WARREN, R.I. — The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Rhode Island (NOFA/RI) announces their 5th Annual Winter Conference to be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm at Hope & Main, 691 Hope Street in Warren, RI.
NOFA/RI’s 2018 Winter Conference centers on organic and sustainable agriculture for farm, garden and livestock and will feature a full day of workshops with nationally and regionally recognized speakers. Workshops topics range from carbon farming, mushroom hunting, garden like a farmer, herb growing, to homesteading, business planning, and selecting a family dairy cow. This Winter Conference has something for everyone, be they a gardener, farmer or fan of organic foods. Speakers include:
- Jennifer & Pete Salinetti, Woven Roots Farm, MA as featured in documentary “A Small Good Thing”
- Jack Kittredge & Julie Rawson, Many Hands Organic Farm in Barre, MA
- Ben Hewitt, Lazy Mill Hill Farm, ME, author of “The Nourishing Homestead”
- Regional Farmers Mary Blue of Farmacy Herbs, The Mushroom Hunting Foundation, Chuck Currie of Freedom Food Farm, Rick Hermonont, Ekonk Hill Turkey Farm and Farm Credit East, and Dan Bensenoff, NOFA/Mass.
The Winter Conference is NOFA/RI’s largest educational and fundraising event. Come and learn innovative practices, share ideas, network, and enjoy our fabulous potluck lunch.
