TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher will visit Hionis Greenhouses in Hunterdon County on Friday to highlight the poinsettia buying season as National Poinsettia Day is Dec. 12.
Hionis Greenhouses features different colors and sizes of Jersey Grown poinsettias, ranging from six to 18 inches. Hionis Greenhouses has six acres of state of the art glass facilities, as well as three acres of quonset greenhouses and has 13 acres of its growing operation under cover. The outdoor production has also expanded to over 65 acres.
Hionis Greenhouses has been in business since 1985 and also features several other Jersey Grown products. Its expansive flower wholesale division delivers a wide range of annuals and perennials fresh from the greenhouses to the garden center.
The event will be 11 a.m. on Friday at Hionis Greenhouses, 4 Coddington Road, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889.
