STATESVILLE, N.C. — The Nickels for Know-How vote will be taken on November 17 at a polling place in each county. The voting site will likely be your Cooperative Extension office. This program began in 1951 after being requested by NC Grange and NC Farm Bureau.
If you purchase either feed or fertilizer in North Carolina, you are eligible to vote. The vote takes place every six years. Fifteen cents for each ton of feed and fertilizer sold raises the funds for this program which generates about $1.4 million annually. The funding supports agricultural research at NC State.
