CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council will host a pasture walk on Thursday at 6 p.m. at John Herbold’s Farm located at 36000 Brushy Fork Rd, Cadiz, OH 43907.
This month we will be visiting John Herbold’s Farm in Harrison County. John has been installing conservation practices on the farm to protect the creek and further develop his grazing system for his beef cattle and goats. Join us for the pasture walk and stay to enjoy the meal and social hour. Please bring your lawn chairs for seating during the meal, if possible.
Topics include: Putting the Water Where the Livestock Are, How Winter Grazing Affects Spring Growth, Forage Identification and Legume Importance and Livestock Size and Grazing Efficiency.

Our pasture walks are normally held on the fourth Thursday of the month April through October on various farms throughout Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Jefferson, Mahoning and Tuscarawas counties. In January, February and March, we host winter workshops. Anyone interested in the conservation of our soil and water through growing and grazing forages is encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.
