ITHACA, N.Y.–New York Soil Health today announced that registration is now open for Soil Health Summit 2018, the first statewide soil health conference in New York. The event will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, NY.
The summit will host 20 expert panelists and speakers, including farmers, researchers, agricultural specialists, and policymakers. The featured keynote speaker is David Montgomery, professor and MacArthur Fellow from University of Washington, author of the critically acclaimed new book “Growing a Revolution: Bringing Our Soil Back to Life”.
“We feel that we are living through a soil health revolution here in the Northeast and are very excited about the enthusiasm we have received from speakers and attendees for this conference,” said David W. Wolfe, project leader of New York Soil Health and professor of plant and soil ecology at Cornell University. “We look forward to bringing together soil health experts to cover current research developments, non-profit conservation efforts, economic benefits, and farming practices in substantive discussions of key challenges to adoption of soil health practices.”
