ALBANY — The Agriculture & NYS Horse Breeding Development Fund announced the release of the New York Sire Stakes and Excelsior Series 2023 racing schedules. Both schedules can be found on the New York Sire Stakes website, and at the links below. The programs kick off May 29 (Memorial Day) at Vernon Downs Casino Hotel in Vernon, N.Y.
New York Sire Stakes Schedule | Excelsior Series Schedule
The New York Sire Stakes will conclude the season with a “Night of Champions” at Yonkers Raceway in Yonkers, N.Y. on September 9, when all are welcome to watch the highly competitive day of harness racing. The Excelsior Series Finals will take place at Batavia Downs in Batavia, N.Y. on September 13.

About the Agriculture & NYS Horse Breeding Development Fund: The Agriculture & NYS Horse Breeding Development Fund is a public benefit corporation established in 1965 by the Laverne Law (Laws of New York, Chapter 567 of the Laws of 1965). The mission of the fund is to promote agriculture through the breeding of Standardbred horses and the conduct of equine research within the state. To carry out its legislative mission, the Fund administers the New York Sire Stakes races, Excelsior/State Fair Series races, and County Fair Races.
