RALEIGH, N.C. — Is your home or community tucked into the woods or surrounded by natural shrubs, woodlands, or marsh? If the answer is yes, we’ve got the publication for you! It’s important to create and maintain a fire-resistant landscape to reduce your risk of damage from a wild fire, but we also recognize that it’s important for you to achieve other landscaping objectives.
In this new publication, “Fire-Resistant Landscaping in North Carolina“, we pulled together what you need to know to reduce your risk of damage from a wild fire. Along with the basics of fire-resistant landscaping, this publication introduces you to plant selection, placement and maintenance for this type of landscaping, with some NC native plants highlighted.
If you have further questions about fire-resistant landscaping, check out the references and additional resources at the end of the publication, and be sure to reach out to our staff. You can access the publication by clicking here.
