ITHACA, N.Y. — The Northeast Cooperative Council (NECC) invites persons interested in learning more about cooperative leadership at the 37tj Future Cooperative Leaders Conference, February 26-27, 2019 at the Doubletree by Hilton, East Syracuse, NY. Registrations are due February 10th.
This conference provides an opportunity to build leadership skills useful for persons who aspire to be delegates, committee members, and directors of an agricultural cooperative or Farm Credit Association. Highly interactive sessions include roles and responsibilities of directors and making decisions as board members.
A panel of presenters from Farm Credit East will identify the differences and similarities in co-op and farm business financial records, how a board of directors utilizes co-op financial statements when making decisions and how farm operators can use records as tools to improve farm viability and strategic competitive advantage.
Presentations will also focus in change – how to prepare for it and even embrace it along with how to maintain and even strengthen relationships as a farm business and cooperative evolves in the farm and food sector.
People who attended the event in the past said, “An excellent meeting, the discussions were invaluable, along with the chance to make new friends.” “I didn’t know how diverse the co-ops were.”
Registrations are due by February 10th. Reservations for accommodations should be made directly with the Doubletree by Hilton, E. Syracuse, NY at (315) 432-0200 before February 14th.
