LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.60 million cattle on feed on Nov. 1, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This inventory was up 2% from last year.
Placements during October totaled 590,000 head, down 6% from 2021. Fed cattle marketings for the month of October totaled 450,000 head, up 3% from last year. Other disappearance during October totaled 10,000 head, unchanged from last year.
