FARGO, N.D. — The North Dakota Grain Growers Association is hosting its annual E-Tour to highlight the environmental stewardship of the state’s agriculture. EPA officials from Washington will tour several locations across eastern North Dakota from June 26 to 30.
The NDGGA has hosted the E-Tour since 1993 and president John Weinand says the event has enabled better communication between North Dakota farmers and the EPA. “We want to highlight some of the new, more precise technology we’re using for spraying so EPA officials can have a better understanding of our capabilities when they conduct risk assessment for certain products and procedures,” Weinand said. “We want to give them a first-hand look at what we’re doing so they can have accurate and up-to-date information when enacting regulations.”
E-Tour participants will visit a variety of agricultural businesses and family farms in Casselton, Alton, Arthur, Amenia, Prosper, Page, Portland, Hillsboro, Harwood and Fargo. The tour is open to the public, and a full itinerary is available at ndgga.com/events. For more information please call NDGGA Executive Director Dan Wogsland at 701-282-9361.
