FARGO, N.D. — The North Dakota 4-H Foundation will dedicate two additions at the North Dakota 4-H Camp near Washburn on Tuesday, Aug. 17. The additions are an outdoor dining patio/gathering space in honor of Pat Carpentier and ElRoy Haadem, who were longtime North Dakota State University Extension agents, and a large camp grill in honor of Carpentier.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. with a social and tours of the camp. Supper will be served at 5, followed by the dedication.
Carpentier was an NDSU Extension agent from 1967 to 2011. Haadem served as an agent from 1968 to 2011.
“Pat Carpentier and ElRoy Haadem dedicated their professional careers to NDSU Extension and many hours to 4-H youth and the North Dakota 4-H Camp,” says Duane Hauck, retired NDSU Extension director. “Burleigh and McLean counties, where they served as lead Extension agents, provided critical staff support needed for the camp to operate and be maintained over the years. The Carpentier/Haadem Memorial Outdoor Dining Patio will provide a positive environment for outdoor dining and learning activities for years to come.”
