LINCOLN — The Nebraska Beef Ambassador contest was held Wednesday, June 9 in Fremont. Contestants prepared an issues response and competed in a media interview. The Nebraska Beef Ambassador Contest provides an opportunity for youth to become spokesperson and future leaders in the beef industry.
Contestants participated in a beef advocacy workshop with Chandler Mulvaney from NCBA, Liz Forker, past Beef Ambassador and Terryn Drieling, Masters of Beef Advocate graduate. The workshop focused on using advocacy to share their personal story. Susan Littlefield conducted the mock interviews where the contestants learned how to engage in a successful media interview. Being an advocate is rewarding work and Nebraska Cattlemen looks forward to working with these young advocates over the next year in promotion and education projects sponsored by the NCW committee.
