YORK, Pa. — Join Penn State Master Gardeners and others for a Native Plant and Yard Sale September 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, at the County Annex, 112 Pleasant Acres Rd, York, PA 17402
The York County Annex was sold last year and the offices within the Annex are moving late this year. For decades the Penn State Master Gardeners’ MAEscapes program has established a native plant garden surrounding the Annex. These beautiful and significant landscapes cannot be reestablished at our new site anytime in the near future so the Master Gardeners have scheduled a PLANT RESCUE to preserve as many plants as possible. The public will be invited to join us as Master Gardeners dig plants from the gardens at a cost of $5.00 per plastic grocery bag. This is a great way to preserve these plants and continue the important work of establishing native landscaping throughout York County, starting with your own property.
We will also be offering many other items for sale – including books, plastic sheet compost bins, craft items, some building materials, shop and outdoor lights, microwave table, and much more.
Some of the offices within the annex, including the York County Conservation District, may also be participating in the Yard Sale, offering visitors a chance to “rescue” or purchase many. office supplies and educational resources that we cannot take with us to our new location on Pleasant Valley Road (the former Graham building).
